Educational Resources – Activities Based on Sorin Starts a School

We are excited to share these educational resources to accompany the reading of Sorin Starts a School! Paul and Katie have many years of experience as classroom teachers and parents, and love creating outstanding resources for home and school to expand the conversation about Holy Cross spirituality.

Plot Sequencing Activity:

This activity is for for teachers, parents, or homeschoolers to accompany the reading of Sorin Starts a School. Suitable for children ages 2-7, this activity will assist children with describing and putting in order the events in the life of Fr. Sorin. 

Our Lady of Sorrows Activity:

Following the reading of Sorin Starts a School, this activity will assist children with describing and putting in order the events in the life of Fr. Sorin. Suitable for elementary school.

Holy Cross in Bangladesh Activity:

Suitable for middle and high school, this activity serves as an introduction to work of Holy Cross in Bangladesh and to deepen our understanding of the Holy Cross motto “the cross, our only hope”. Includes a link to an interview with Fr. Tom McDermott, CSC, director of advancement for Notre Dame University Bangladesh,  by Paul Mitchell, author of Sorin Starts a School.
